I'm In Jerusalem!

I have arrived in the Holy Land. It is beautiful and the Old City is Incredible!!
Yesterday I ventured outside the Center for the first time. WOW! The City is so diverse!
The Center is located in East Jerusalem in the Palestinian part of the city. Each morning around 4:30am the Muslim call to prayer wakes me up. I love it.
I'm so excited to go explore the Old City. Because today is Friday we can't go into East Jerusalem or the Old City until after 3pm because it is the Islamic Sabbath and there are a lot of Muslims on the Temple Mount. Fridays is when it is most dangerous and tense in the Old City. After 3 though I'm going to go explore for a couple hours.

This morning was the first day of classes. I'm so excited! I had Old Testament for 2 hours then Ancient Near East studies for an hour. We don't start our Israeli, Palestinian, or Hebrew classes until next week.

I can't post pictures from the Center's internet, but in the next couple days I will go into the city and post pictures from an internet cafe.
