Hezekiah's Tunnel

This morning was so much fun! We went to the city of David, the ancient part of Jerusalem and hiked thru Hezekiah's tunnel. I loved it! We watched a 3-D movie about the history of the city of David and how David came in and conquered the city from the Jebusites. The movie was really well done and fun with the 3-D. It helped me visualize what the city would have looked like back in the day.
I absolutely loved Hezekiah's tunnel! I cannot believe it was built 700 years before Christ and how the tunnel was carved out of the rock. The builders began at opposite ends then meet in the middle. It is incredible how they built itand it has survived so long and still is in great shape. The water was clean and clear and not as deep as I'd expected.

Pool of Siloam

This is where Christ healed the blind man.

Ancient steps they found that they think go from the Pool of Siloam up to the Temple Mount. They don't know for sure because as the excavators dug up the stairs, they went under a mosque, and the Muslims boarded it up and wouldn't let them dig anymore.

These stairs existed during the time of Christ and we probably would have used them to go up to the Temple Mount from the Pool of Siloam. So, I can now say I've walked where Jesus walked.
